Frank Warren @ The Tivoli, Sunday the 14th of April.

I had the honour of meeting and photographing Frank Warren of PostSecret fame on Sunday at The Tivoli. If you get a chance to witness his talk, you should, very inspirational and I opening from a social perspective. He is currently on his first national tour of Australia. I think Perth is the only show with tickets available.

HOT DIGGITY

Damn it's been a while? A few things have happened, shot some weddings, went to Japan (met some new pals), Christmas happened, moving house, watched Girls (the show, not in general), Sausage Fest 2013, Hottest 100, listening to Jim James and the daily grind has been hectic.

Giving you a heads up, I have some posts a comin', first up is the follow up to the Hanna + John Sneak Peak. You can view them here. Another wedding close to my heart coming soon along with Japan 2012 and Sausage Fest 2013.

This wedding was the kind of wedding you could do again and have no qualms.

SEAS APART

Annie + Andrew's wedding is finally up. Check out all the cross cultural love here. Pete + Linda's is on it's way. It's been a massive year just got back from Mackay after photographing Hanna + John on Sunday. The sun shone! After 4 weddings I finally received some sunshine. Had an absolute blast.

Happy Days

Finally have my new weddings website up and running. First couple to grace the screen of the new site are Jayne + Peter. Annie + Andrew will be up in the next week and another 3 more to come in the next two months.

el Motel @ RAW

LIVE AT LAST

Brendon Grove Live is back up and running again. I'm going to be using it as my music portfolio cause I don't do as much as I used to. Kicked it off with the boys from el Motel. I'll post stuff up each week.

I like it a lot I think I'm going to switch my other pages to the same style.

IF IT BLEEDS - TEST FOOTAGE

Tass and I went down to Forster NSW in November to shoot some test footage for a short story I had been working on and this is the result. Some shots are a bit shaky due to there being no track dolly.

All dolly shots were on a free standing wheeled tripod. Except for the exterior house shot which was shot from the boot of Tass's car. You can see the level change with the angle of the street.

The music itself is a triumph! I have to thank my super buddy Tass for his fantastic work on our little collaboration.

SAUSAGEFEST 2012

It's back!

The one and only....Sausagefest!

They may not look like much but these boys are some of the best people you will ever meet. We come from all over to catch up, stay in touch and sink a few. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the annual event that is Sausagefest you will have to see past posts. It's not as horrible as it sounds.

This year it was decided that Sausagefest would be held in Kinkuna National Park, QLD. Just south of Bundaberg (our hometown) and it did not disappoint, I think I heard from a few of the boys that this was there favorite location so far.

What a busy month! I shot this wedding mid December and still haven't been able to see this couple in person to show them some images. We both have been traveling and working but here is a sneak peek at their beautiful day.

el MOTEL & B

I have been doing some work with elMOTEL recently. The guys needed some portraits for promo material and I tagged along for their first gig @The Waiting Room. As you can see I'm back at it with the Demi and still having trouble with the focus?

Jay threw some effects and banners on the images and here are the results:

MY DEMI EE17

I finally found my 1966 Canon Demi EE17 that a kind neighbor bestowed to me around 2002. This is actually the first roll of film I have had the chance to shoot. When I first received the camera I thought it needed special film and just used it as an ornament.

Now having found it and taking more interest I have found out that it just takes standard film but shoots half a frame per 35mm frame. So you get double the exposures off a roll, hence the name "Demi" which is french for half. Comes with a fixed 30mm f1.7 SH lens which is awesome! I've seen 2 on ebay in Australia for around 200-300 bucks depending on condition. But this bad boy is in great nick.

Recently took a road trip to Forster with my mate Tass from el Motel and got the chance to test out this puppy. I had no battery so all exposures were guesstimated and as you can see I didn't do a lot of focusing. It actually has a shutter priority setting which I barely used but without a battery it may have been an issue anyway.
